Proper Packaging

Proper packaging of cartridges is imperative to protect the life of the cartridge, and the
integrity of the data contained on it. Cartridges shipped with inadequate packaging could
be damaged, which may result in data loss or reduction to the useful life of the cartridge.

Proper Packaging Basics

  1. Cartridges should always be contained in a plastic bag or shrink wrap approved for use
    with tape cartridges.
  2. Cartridges should be placed in a shipping carton which meets the following requirements:
200lbs burst strength, 32lbs/in edge crush, 65lbs gross weight.
  3. If cartridges are not in original Imation packaging (i.e., cartridge quantities < 30), bagged
cartridges should be wrapped with several layers of bubble wrap to eliminate movement
and protect from any external impacts.
