Customer testimonials
"I was very skeptical at first — I didn't think I'd like a storage unit that didn't have a drive built in. But after playing with it for just 10 minutes, I love it and would recommend it. I dare you to try to take it away from me!" (James V, USA)
"I bought a Disc Stakka last week and am extremely pleased with it. No trouble installing or using it. Have shown it to a couple of friends and they were amazed." (Doreen D, Australia)

Disc Stakka transforms photographer’s business
An archived
job that hasn't seen the light of day for two years and a client needs
it—now. This not unusual request to a professional photographer
could be a time-consuming nightmare, or it could be a breeze.
Ian van der Wolde, who runs Altered Images Photography in Dandenong, would sometimes spend hours searching for archived images stored on removable hard drives. "With thousands of images stored on 700 gigabytes of six removable hard drives along with more than a hundred CDs scattered throughout the studio, to search through and find one image was quite painful."
Fortunately this frustrating process is no longer necessary, following van der Wolde's installation of the Imation Disc Stakka and OpdiTracker software into his business.
"Using the Disc Stakka has completely turned around how I handle archived images. Now, when a client calls and wants an image, it only takes a minute or so to locate it and within seconds it can be on its way across the Internet," said van der Wolde.
Huge cost savings for Hosico in automated disc management system
When a new product provides
a low cost solution to a problem that is costing hours and hours of
lost productivity, any business would have to seriously consider it.
For machining, tooling and moulding company Hosico Engineering in Braeside, Victoria, it recently took a week to find an archived job from seven years ago. Today, with its newly installed disc management system, called the Imation Disc Stakka, it only takes a few seconds to find CDs stored on the system.
"With files getting larger and larger and paperwork becoming obsolete, keeping track of the data is becoming much more important. It is crucial that the data is kept in a secure environment and can be accessed immediately," said Stan Vandermerwe, senior designer in Hosico's CAD department.
"The Imation Disc Stakka and OpdiTracker software will help prevent lost and damaged discs and while it will increase our productivity, it will also eliminate the frustration in looking for misplaced and mislabelled discs," he added.
City accountant saves time and money with automated disc management system
Lost discs don't have to be "a
fact of life" as chartered accounting firm BKR Rosenbergs
recently discovered when it installed an Imation Disc Stakka.
Justin Kelly, the company's IT manager, is responsible for the safe storage and management of BKR Rosenbergs' entire complement of CDs, which contain proprietary software and data files.
"The range of software we use across all levels of the business is vitally important. A day doesn't go by when I have to locate a software CD and use it on one of our PCs," said Kelly. "We've got hundreds of CDs and finding the one I wanted often took 15 to 20 minutes each time. Now, with the Imation Disc Stakka, it only takes a few seconds."
"Not only is it saving me so much time in looking for discs, but they are kept in a secure environment and can't get damaged in storage. It is a very handy and useful little unit," he added.
Creative agency finds a CD management solution that really works
It's a fact of life
that advertising agencies and creative studios have hundreds of CDs
or DVDs that need to be managed. And as new work is produced, the number
of discs continues to grow.
Most companies have a basic system of filing and management: one that usually involves storing CDs in their jewel cases or in wallets, sometimes in date order, sometimes filed by client name. Melbourne creative agency Gill&Cetti had a reasonable system in place, although it was time consuming and they occasionally experienced lost and damaged discs.
"CDs are a vital part of our business as all our work is stored on disc," said the firm's creative director, Paul Giorgilli. "It's the standard on which information is delivered and supplied and we also use CDs and DVDs for back ups."
"We recently installed a couple of Imation Disc Stakkas and they are already providing the business with considerable benefits. The Disc Stakka with the OpdiTracker software saves us around ten minutes every time we want to find a previous job or a photo CD," said Mr Giorgilli. "And unlike our former system, we instantly get the CD we want in seconds, without leaving the workstation."
"When we replace the CD, it doesn't have to go back into the same slot in the carousel, the software keeps track of this. This content management facility is like having online access to our entire library of projects and images, easily controlled by a few keystrokes."
Software Services Company Solves CD Security Issue
"We had to stop the discs walking away"
said Tim Elford, systems administrator for TUSC, an
independent software services company, talking about its vital assets.
As a Microsoft MSDN subscriber, TUSC receives monthly updates of Microsoft's software tools on about 15 CDs a month, which are used by TUSC in its day to day operations.
"With so much important information on CD, security of our discs is crucial. However, the issue is as much about storing the discs as well," said Elford. "Until recently this wasn't managed very well. We had some in their cases on shelves, the really vital ones in a safe, some in folders and others loose in a box.
"While the IT group tried to keep track of where everything was, if you weren't there to supervise, discs often went missing. And tracking down a missing disc in an office with 65 people is virtually impossible." he said.
However, all these security and storage problems are history now that TUSC uses the Imation Disc Stakka to manage its ever-growing library of CDs and DVDs.
Web Designer Solves Disappearing CD Issue
Web site design company, Reactive
Media in Fitzroy, has implemented a simple and cost effective
solution that will prevent its archived CDs from disappearing from the
folder in which they were stored.
Reactive's IT Manager Mark Moynihan, said an Imation Disc Stakka had recently been installed and the hundred or so backup CDs that were previously stored in a big folder were being converted and saved on to DVDs.
"We've now got about 35 discs that have been placed into the Disc Stakka and we have automatically and manually entered their titles and content into the OpdiTracker database that comes with the unit. This process took no time at all," said Mark.
"Before using the Disc Stakka we would spend hours looking through a folder that contained about one hundred discs," he said. "Now it takes just a few seconds for the search process to find and eject the right disc, so productivity has really increased."
