Imation Ulysses™ HDD Cartridges

Ulysses HDD Cartridges are 2.5-inch SATA hard disk drives housed in a tape cartridge. Ulysses Cartridges conform in every respect to industry-standard tape cartridges, and so are designed for compatibility with existing tape automation equipment and software.

Ulysses Cartridges were designed for use in a Ulysses Tape Drive Emulator, which provides the electrical connection to the automation host. They utilize standard hard disk drives, and so are completely sealed and benefit from the rapid advances in hard disk technology. As hard drive capacities increase, Ulysses cartridges will keep pace, while maintaining compatibility with the Ulysses Emulator.

Ulysses HDD Cartridges benefit from Imation’s more than 50 years of tape experience, and incorporate many of Imation’s innovations in cartridge design that have been road-tested in millions of tape cartridges over the last 20 years.
