The Ulysses
System is Hard Disk Cartridges for your library. Along with a Ulysses Tape
Drive Emulator, Ulysses Cartridges function exactly like tape cartridges
— except with the speed of hard disks!
Ulysses was created to accelerate tape automation by integrating HDD directly
into a standard tape library. The Ulysses Tape Drive Emulator and HDD Cartridges
are the same size and shape as an industry standard tape drive and cartridges,
so customers can simply "drop in" a Ulysses Solution into their
existing tape library. Incorporating Ulysses into a data protection strategy
is easy with tools already available in tape backup software.
The Ulysses Tape Drive Emulator is highly scalable and will accommodate
a variety of cartridge capacity options. A new emulator isn't required
to use higher capacity HDD cartridges and you can also scale capacity
by adding additional HDD Cartridges into your tape library mix.
